Terry Shaw

Biography
Terry Shaw is the former president and chief executive officer for AdventHealth, one of the largest faith-based health care systems in the United States, with more than 55 hospital campuses and a robust network of pre and post-acute care facilities across the enterprise.
Shaw led AdventHealth through significant transformation supporting its vision to become a preeminent, faithbased, consumer focused, clinical care company helping those it serves feel whole, through innovations such as the formation of a singular, growing brand driving cultural alignment around its commitment to whole-person care, and the creation of a new division committed to a whole-person continuum of care for consumers. During his 42-year tenure, Shaw has also served as AdventHealth’s executive vice president, chief financial officer and chief operations officer. He also held numerous positions within the organization’s Central Florida Division (formerly Florida Hospital).
Shaw is currently a member of the HealthQuest Capital Advisory Board and the FaithSearch Partners Board. Prior to retirement, he served as a member of the Healthcare Leadership Council, a policy think tank, board advisory council member for Premier, Inc.’s board of directors, and co-chair for Health Evolution’s Transforming Health Care Economics Roundtable.
Shaw earned a master's degree in business administration from the University of Central Florida, and bachelor's degrees in accounting and computer science from Southern Adventist University. In 2025, he was awarded Honorary Doctorate degrees in Health Care Administration by the AdventHealth University, in Business Administration, D.B.A., by Andrews University, and in Public Health, Honoris Causa, by the University of the Southern Caribbean.
